Laredo Makes Redstone 5-0 Losers
|
The Laredo Border Jumpers faced a tough opponent in Redstone pitcher Gerald Tynsdale, but did just enough to pull out the victory at The Raptor's Nest by a final score of 5-0. Tynsdale went 7.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Jaime Ruíz, the winning pitcher, is now 4-1. He went 6.1 innings, allowing no runs on 5 hits, while fanning 5 and walking 0. The third-place Border Jumpers have won 5 consecutive games.
Laredo used the timely hitting of Claudio Moreno to capture the win. The third baseman stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Border Jumpers on top, 4-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Laredo manager Kelly Mo.
