Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Michigan Militia and Newark Falcons.

The Michigan Militia topped the Newark Falcons, 5-3, in Appalachian action at Assembly Line Grounds. The game was highlighted by the performance of Michigan pitcher Dennis Robertson. Robertson, the winner, moves to 3-2. He threw 5.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 5 walks. Dawson James earned save number 6 this season.

Jim Crawford helped out the Michigan cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the second baseman went 2 for 3 with a double and a walk.
