Despite a great performance by Mexico City right fielder Jeff Maddaford, the Death Valley Burn defeated the Diablos by the score of 5-4 at Corona Field. Maddaford was 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and 2 walks. With the win, Death Valley raised its record to 19-17.

Death Valley used the timely hitting of Alex García to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Burn on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I was a little disappointed," said Mexico City manager Brandon T. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
