Glacier Bay Ice Pirates starter Lee Barnard found his groove in his team's 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Cheesesteaks. The winning pitcher was Barnard, now 7-5. He tossed 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 6. The win puts Glacier Bay at 38-34 this season.
The Ice Pirates got a big at-bat from designated hitter Jorge Magana. For the game, Magana went 1-4 with a home run. In the top of the fourth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Glacier Bay a 2-1 lead.
