Don McCormack made an impact in the 8-2 Iowa win over Death Valley. McCormack, who finished 4th in the FR in RBI with 121 in 2064, was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Iowa pitcher Bob Bryant got the win, upping his record to 2-0. Aaron Frow got the loss. The triumph puts Iowa at 43-31 for the season.

In the bottom of the fifth inning of a 2-2 tie, Iowa center fielder Sam Dixon hit a 3-run home run. It broke the deadlock and put Iowa on top, 5-2.

"I thought we played a nice game," McCormack told the Iowa Times. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
