Militia Sunk by Chicken Haulers

The Amarillo Chicken Haulers rode a solid performance from 25-year-old starting pitcher Kevin Barker to a win, beating the Michigan Militia, 6-1, at The Chicken Coop. With the win, Amarillo pushed its record to 40-32.
Pete Carter had a big 2-run home run for the Chicken Haulers in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Amarillo leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from Sergio Morris, who is a three-time All-Star, and punished it. The result was his 6th home run of the season, which put the Chicken Haulers on top, 4-0.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Carter told the Amarillo Times.
