Cheesesteaks Grind Out 2-0 Win
|
The Cheesesteaks grabbed a win, 2-0, at William Penn Park, overcoming a fine effort from Havana pitcher Steven Carroll. Carroll went 5.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. Paul Davis snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits over 3 innings. He's now 2-1 on the season. Clint Kimball nailed down the save.
Miguel Lugo was 1 for 2 for Philadelphia. The 25-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Steven Carroll. It was his 6th RBI of the season.
"Runs were tough to come by," said Lugo. "But we scored just enough to win."
The Comrades, at 36-37, have lost 4 straight games.
