Honolulu 46-27 After Beating Aces
|
The Honolulu High Tide picked up a win at Champagne of Beers Field, knocking off the Atlantic City Aces, 4-2. Starting pitcher Stephen Brooks was a big reason why. Honolulu pitcher Roosevelt Hess earned the win, hiking his record to 5-0. John Madden suffered the loss. Ángel García was credited with the save for Honolulu, his 13th of the season.
Iván Sandoval, who finished 4th in the AP in batting average with .311 in 2071, helped out the Honolulu cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the shortstop was 2 for 3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI.
Atlantic City manager said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
The Appalachian Southern-leading High Tide are 46-27.
