Michigan Loses, 6-4, Despite Cortéz Exploits
|
The Keg Creek Coyotes had to overcome a fine effort from Michigan pitcher Eduardo Cortéz to win, 6-4, at Assembly Line Grounds. Cortéz went 6.1 innings and allowed no runs. Edward Rascoe earned the save for Keg Creek, his 10th of the year. Keg Creek has now won 3 straight, while the Militia have lost 3 in a row.
Tony Hsi came through with a big-time hit for Keg Creek. The third baseman smacked a grand slam home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 6-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Hsi.
