Cape Canaveral registered a win at Launch Pad by beating the Minneapolis Maulers, 10-3. Pitcher Tim Estes was one reason why the Launch triumphed. With the victory, the Launch record stands at 37-36.
Derek Burns had a big 3-run home run for the Launch in the bottom of the third inning. With Cape Canaveral leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from Joe Moon, who finished 4th in the AP in innings pitched with 211.0 in 2072, and punished it. The result was his 17th home run of the season, which put the Launch on top, 5-1.
"It feels good to get this one," Burns told the Cape Canaveral Chronicle.
