Mashers Deal Border Jumpers 2-1 Loss
|
The Crab Apple Cove Mashers had to overcome a fine performance from Laredo pitcher Peyton Jones to grab a 2-1 win at Vargas Field. Jones allowed 1 run over 7 innings. The Mashers have now won 5 straight.
The Mashers relied on shortstop Gilberto Hernández for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the 11th, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring double to seal the deal.
"This place was rockin'," Hernández said.
