Reading's Gregg Gets 2000th Hit
The day belonged to Harvey Gregg of the Reading Railbirds as he became the latest player to reach the 2000-hit plateau. He did it in Reading's 4-3 win over San Jose.

"It's a moment I'll never forget," said Gregg after the game. "2000 hits is a lot. It puts you in a very select group. I never expected to be around long enough to reach a milestone like this."

He finished the day with 2 hits in 4 at-bats.

Gregg's career batting average is .295. In 1820 games, he has gotten 2001 hits, 246 home runs, 979 RBIs and scored 897 runs.
