Good production from left fielder Gustavo García helped the Alcatraz Island Jail Break topple the Philadelphia Cheesesteaks, 7-1. García was 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk for the Jail Break. Jack Dixon, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 4.1 innings. The victory makes Alcatraz Island 4-4.
Alcatraz Island right fielder Arturo Silva landed a blow when he belted a 3-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. It was his 3rd home run of the season. With it, the Jail Break took a 7-0 lead.
Said losing manager Joey Santangelo: "It's very easy to sit in an ivory tower and critique the pitching, but the bottom line is we need to score runs."
