The Vermont Lake Monsters defeated the Minneapolis Maulers, 12-2, in Appalachian action at Welsh Field. Robin Andrews pulled his weight. The 7-year veteran was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 5. Vermont bumps their record to 34-44 with the win.

With Vermont leading 7-0 in the bottom of the third, Andrews came up to bat against Minneapolis pitcher Ed Green. Andrews hit a fastball to left for a grand slam home run. His 6th home run of the season put the Lake Monsters on top, 11-0.
