Reading Railbirds starter Daniel Sims pitched his team past the Iowa Crop Circles, 6-2. The win was credited to Chet Hooper in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Louie Nelson took the loss. Adrián Jiménez converted his 8th save in 9 tries.

Greg Taylor provided a timely hit. The Reading designated hitter delivered a bases-clearing triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Railbirds on top, 5-2. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.

"I'm glad we can make our fans happy with a win," Taylor told the Reading Observer.
