Launch Absorb 4-1 Loss at Champagne of Beers Field
|
The Honolulu High Tide defeated the Cape Canaveral Launch, 4-1, in Appalachian action at Champagne of Beers Field. Honolulu pitcher Kevin Holland had a standout performance. Holland, the winner, moves to 6-4. He threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 2 walks. José Martínez earned the save, his 12th in 17 tries.
The High Tide got a big at-bat from designated hitter Graham Fontaine. For the game, Fontaine went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 8th home run of the season gave Honolulu a 2-1 lead.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Holland said.
The High Tide' win now puts them at 37-41.
