Falcons Sneak By Lake Monsters, 4-3
|
The Falcons grabbed a win, 4-3, at Falcons Field, overcoming a fine effort from Vermont pitcher Pablo Román. Román went 7 innings and allowed no runs. The win puts Newark at 26-50.
Scotty Long was the walk-off hero for Newark. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Falcons second baseman hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
"I really like what we did out there today," Long said after the game.
