The Alcatraz Island Jail Break defeated the Iowa Crop Circles, 9-3, at The Rock. Alcatraz Island was led by 2069 Diamond Debut Award winner Vicente Méndez, who was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Arthur Peet recorded the save, his 7th. Iowa, at 31-49, has lost 5 straight.

With Alcatraz Island leading 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Méndez hit a fastball from Sam Woodward for a 3-run home run. It was his 12th home run of the season and put the Jail Break ahead, 4-0.

"We're trying to go out there and win games," Méndez told the Alcatraz Island Daily News, "and we played pretty well tonight."
