Costa Now 6-5 After Subduing Falcons
|
Vermont took on Newark in front of a lively crowd.
Vermont starter Lee Costa put a stranglehold on the Newark offense. The right-hander had complete command of his curveball in leading the Lake Monsters to a 5-1 win. Vermont currently is in third place in the Appalachian Northern at 36-43.
Costa scattered 5 hits over 8.2 innings for the Lake Monsters. With the win, Costa moves to 6-5 on the year with 108 strikeouts.
"The fans pay the tickets and help us do what we do, so we like to put on a show for them," Costa told the Vermont Observer.
