Carrillo has 3 hits, Leads Monuments to Win
|
Washington designated hitter Rodrigo Carrillo played a vital role in his team's 7-5 conquest of West Island . He was 3 for 4 with a home run, a triple, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for Washington. Washington reliever Ernesto Alary picked up the win, upping his record to 12-4. Manuel Aguilar absorbed the loss. Washington has now won 3 in a row.
Washington right fielder Gilberto Amador contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fifth. With two down, he hit a sinker to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 90th hit of the season and put the Monuments ahead, 7-4.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said Amador.
