Monuments Need Extras to Top Chicken Haulers
|
The Washington Monuments outlasted the Amarillo Chicken Haulers in an extra-inning thriller.
Washington left fielder Bill Green made his presence felt in the 6-5 Monuments triumph over the Amarillo Chicken Haulers. Green was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. The Monuments raised their record to 36-45.
Washington took a 6-5 lead on Chris Duncan's 6th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Duncan hit in the top of the tenth, left Amarillo pitcher Luke Edwards visibly frustrated.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Amarillo manager James Walker. "The effort was great."
