Ice Pirates Need Extra Innings to Top Crop Circles, 2-1
Iowa got a terrific performance from pitcher Clyde Barfoot, but it wasn't enough to beat the Glacier Bay Ice Pirates. Glacier Bay won the Liquor Luge contest, 2-1. Barfoot threw 8.1 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Jim Reed, now 1-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. The win gives Glacier Bay a record of 3-6.

The Ice Pirates got a clutch hit from first baseman Craig Johnson. In the bottom of the 13th, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Ice Pirates.

"Winning is hard sometimes," said Ice Pirates manager Matt Lehrer. "This one was nice to get."
