Minneapolis Maulers starter Jason Jones was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the West Island Storm, 4-2. Minneapolis reliever Eduardo Silva picked up the win, upping his record to 4-0. Juan Marino was saddled with the loss. The triumph puts Minneapolis at 49-38 for the season.

Garth Allen was 1 for 3 for Minneapolis. The slugging catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Phil Brown. It was his 37th RBI of the season.

"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Jones. "Successful pitchers do it."
