Militia Absorb 5-2 Loss at The Grand Lodge
|
In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
Washington rode a good effort from starter Ernesto Alary to beat the Michigan Militia at The Grand Lodge. The final score was 5-2. Alary went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7. His record improves to 5-8. Kunitaro Watanabe got credit for the save for Washington. It was his 1st of the year.
The Monuments got a big at-bat from right fielder Chris Duncan. For the game, Duncan was 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 17th double of the season gave Washington a 4-2 lead.
"Winning never gets dull," said Duncan.
Washington is last in the Appalachian Coastal with a record of 40-47.
