The Mexico City Diablos picked up a win at Corona Field, taking down the Laredo Border Jumpers, 2-0. Starting pitcher Troy Smith was a big reason why. The save went to Tyler Walker, his 18th this season. With the win, Mexico City raised its record to 52-36.

Rusty Kuntz went 1 for 3 with a walk for Mexico City. The two-time All-Star had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Jon Gilmore. It was his 41st walk of the season.

"Winning makes the heart grow fonder -- for more winning," said Kuntz, cracking a smile.
