Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the St. Paul Bearers and the Reading Railbirds. St. Paul won it, 2-1. St. Paul starter Paul Davis was in command. Hoa Trung was credited with the save for St. Paul, his 24th of the season. The win makes St. Paul 43-45.

The Bearers benefited from a costly error in the bottom of the sixth. With Kyle Gaines at bat and St. Paul leading 1-0, the Reading miscue allowed St. Paul to plate 1 and take the lead, 2-0.

"We're just going to try to build off this win," said Davis.
