4-2 Win Gets Redstone to 50-39
|
Redstone Ridge Raptors starter Phil Brown turned in an exceptional performance against the Laredo Border Jumpers at The Raptor's Nest, resulting in a Redstone win, 4-2. Brown picked up the win for Redstone, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 6-6. Victor Jones was credited with the save, his 18th in 20 tries.
Redstone shortstop Rod Malone contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 108th hit of the season and put the Ridge Raptors ahead, 2-0.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Malone said.
The triumph puts Redstone at 50-39 for the season.
