The St. Paul Bearers got a strong performance from pitcher Kenny Hecker, who stymied the Reading offense en route to a win, 4-1, at Schuylkill Landing Park. Bob McKinney converted his 16th save in 18 tries. The Bearers improved to 41-49.

St. Paul used the bat of Kyle Gaines to get the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Bearers ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said St. Paul manager Mitchell Slacko.
