Ridge Raptors Get Past Boston, 6-5
|
Led by Dale Pérez, the Redstone Ridge Raptors defeated the Boston Revolution, 6-5, in 10 innings. Pérez went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Ridge Raptors. David Flint notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record now sits at 3-0. Redstone now has a record of 45-45 with the win.
The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Kiyohisa Saito came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing Boston pitcher Greg Young, he hit a 2-0 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Redstone on top, 6-5.
Pérez told a Redstone Chronicle reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
