Alcatraz Island Gets 5-2 Win
|
Alcatraz Island starter Chalis Kilonzo pitched well against the San Jose Cuervo at Welsh Field. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-2. Kilonzo yielded no runs over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 3, and struck out 9. His record improves to 5-8. Earning the save was Scott Jenkins. He's now cashed in 27 of 28 save opportunities.
José Álvarez dealt the Cuervo a blow in the top of the second. Batting with the bases loaded and Alcatraz Island leading 1-0, Álvarez, who finished 3rd in the FR in doubles with 50 last year, hit a first pitch changeup for a 2-run single.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Álvarez.
The triumph puts Alcatraz Island at 50-40 for the season.
