Floundering Coyotes Lose 6th Straight
|
Newark turned a fine outing from starter Juan Vargas into a victory over the Keg Creek Coyotes at Coyote Den Stadium. The final score was 4-1. Ted Bigham earned the save for Newark, his 1st. The loss puts Keg Creek at 2-6.
Newark used a timely hit from Henry Velásquez to get the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Falcons ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"From the last whatever, five, six, seven games, there's really only one way to go and that's up," said losing manager .
