Cheesesteaks Earn Clutch Win, 7-6
|
Philadelphia Cheesesteaks starter Tomás Quintero pitched a strong game against the Boston Revolution at William Penn Park, leading the Cheesesteaks to victory, 7-6. Philadelphia reliever Jorge Yánez snagged the win, upping his record to 4-5. John Newsome shouldered the loss. The triumph puts Philadelphia at 52-40 for the season.
Carl Anderson was the walk-off hero for Philadelphia. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Cheesesteaks second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I went out and just tried to do my job," said Quintero.
