Chicken Haulers Lose, 4-1, at Champagne of Beers Field
|
Honolulu right fielder Curt Massey helped his team beat the Amarillo Chicken Haulers, 4-1. Massey, who finished 5th in the FR in batting average with .352 in 2063, went 2 for 4 for the High Tide. The first-place High Tide, at 58-33, lead the Appalachian Southern by 9½ games.
With Honolulu trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Massey hit a changeup from Otis Quick for a 3-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the High Tide ahead, 3-1.
Said Amarillo manager James Walker: "They pitched the heck out of us."
