Though he had a terrific game, Mauro Zarate could not prevent his team, the St. Paul Bearers, from absorbing a loss. Reading won the game, 13-4. Zarate slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Connor Kelloway got the win, improving to 9-5. He worked 5.1 innings, giving up 3 runs on 4 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 1. Reading leads the Frontier Northern by 10 games.

Reading used a clutch at-bat from Dave Rouse to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Railbirds ahead, 5-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

Rouse told a Reading News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
