Crab Apple Cove got a strong outing from Elijah Stubbs as the Mashers defeated the Reading Railbirds, 2-1, at Schuylkill Landing Park. At 39-53, the Mashers are currently 4th in the Frontier Southern.

Crab Apple Cove used a clutch at-bat from Ray Walters to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Mashers ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Walters.
