Cuervo Post 5-3 Win Over Boston
Behind a solid performance from first baseman Marvin Andrés, the San Jose Cuervo defeated the Boston Revolution, 5-3. Andrés went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Cuervo. The winner was Bill Alexander, who threw 87 pitches over 5.2 innings. The left-hander was charged with 3 runs on 7 hits. Richard Miller notched his 21st save in 28 chances.

Andrés contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for San Jose in the top of the third. With his team trailing 2-1, Andrés took a forkball from Lonnie Reynolds and stroked the home run to left-center. His 24th home run of the season allowed the Cuervo to leap in front, 5-2.
