Hornsby Excels, But Outlaws Win
|
Orlando left fielder Dan Hornsby was sensational. He went 4 for 4 with a double, 3 singles, and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Ozark beat the Rum Runners, 9-8. The win went to Tomás Leyra in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Kevin Ray took the loss. Ozark has now won 6 straight, while the Rum Runners have lost 6 in a row.
Andy Byrne, who is tied for 3rd in the AP in stolen bases with 25, helped out the Ozark cause in the top of the sixth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the center fielder drove in one run.
"We ground out the win," said Byrne. "That's all that matters."
