The West Island Storm knocked off the Amarillo Chicken Haulers, 7-1, in Appalachian action at The Chicken Coop. West Island pitcher and Pinar del Rio, Cuba, native Miguel Benítez had an outstanding performance. The Storm raised their record to 37-57.

José Morales had a big 2-run double for the Storm in the top of the first inning. With West Island leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a circle change from 33-year old left-handed pitcher Otis Quick and swatted a double to left. It was his 3rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Storm ahead, 3-0.
