4-2 Triumph Runs Militia Streak to 9 Games
|
Michigan parlayed a decent outing from starter Riku Mainila into a solid win over the Vermont Lake Monsters. The final score was 4-2. Michigan reliever Juan Solís picked up the win, upping his record to 5-2. Shigenobu Nakano absorbed the loss. Michigan has now won 9 straight.
Brian Bowen, who is tied for 5th in the AP with a .392 on-base percentage, had a direct impact on the outcome. Bowen contributed a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put Michigan up, 2-1.
Vermont manager Kevin Tucker said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
