Mexico City left fielder Jared Hoffman was instrumental in helping the Diablos triumph, 9-2, over the Reading Railbirds. Hoffman slugged 3 home runs. He drove in 8 runs and scored three times. Don Wilson got the save, the 1st for him this season. With the win, Mexico City raised its record to 53-44.

With Mexico City leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fourth, Hoffman hit a curveball from José Méndez for a grand slam home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Diablos ahead, 6-1.

"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," Hoffman told the Mexico City Daily.
