Boston Revolution starter Greg Payne turned in a sterling performance against the Iowa Crop Circles, leading his team to a slim 2-1 win. Payne got the win, improving to 7-9. He allowed 7 hits and walked 3 over 7.1 innings. Payne allowed no runs. Today's win puts Boston at 48-50, while Iowa falls to 54-44.

The Revolution got a big hit from catcher Philip Baker. In the bottom of the sixth, Baker pounded a 2-run double to center. His 14th double of the season put the Revolution ahead, 2-0.

"We put together a nice win," Baker said.
