Chicken Haulers Capture Close Win
|
The Amarillo Chicken Haulers faced a tenacious opponent in Keg Creek pitcher Hsin-pei Gui, but still scratched out a win at Coyote Den Stadium by a final score of 6-5 in 13 innings. Gui went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. Bob Owen earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record is now 2-0. The Chicken Haulers, now 6-3, have been playing some good baseball.
Brad Coleman drew 2 walks in 7 trips to the plate for Amarillo. The 34-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the 13th. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch off Dani Gonzáles. It was his 11th RBI of the season.
"Feels good to be on the winning side," said Coleman.
