Glacier Bay Wins, 5-4, Over Jail Break
|
The Glacier Bay Ice Pirates did just enough to sneak past the Alcatraz Island Jail Break, 5-4, at The Rock. Glacier Bay pitcher Lee Barnard, in particular, had a standout performance. The first-place Ice Pirates have won 5 straight games.
Glacier Bay took a 5-4 lead on Christian Ward's 5th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Ward hit in the top of the ninth, left Alcatraz Island pitcher Scott Jenkins visibly frustrated.
Glacier Bay manager Matt Lehrer commended his team for delivering "maximum effort."
