Sharpley Gets 400th Save, Shuts Down Aces, 7-3
In an effort that will possibly punch his ticket to the Pioneers of the Diamond Hall of Fame, Nick Sharpley notched his 400th career save today at Trump Stadium, leading the Cape Canaveral Launch to a 7-3 triumph over the Atlantic City Aces.

Known for his calm demeanor in the heat of competition, the 34-year-old Sharpley was similarly collected after the game.

"To me it's just a number. I wasn't really nervous or thinking too much about it. I'm just trying to make my pitches and get hitters out," he said. The star reliever allowed no hits and no runs, while working 1 innings in recording his milestone save.

Sharpley's career stats shape up like this: In 896.2 innings, he has struck out 1093, walked 366 and saved 400 games while compiling a 63-68 record and a 2.96 ERA.
