The Iowa Crop Circles beat the Reading Railbirds, 7-1. Iowa pitcher and Mankato, Minnesota, native Sean Springfield led the way. Luis León was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 2 save opportunities. The win puts Iowa at 50-50 this season.
In the top of the sixth, Iowa right fielder Perwiro Amaya had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Amaya stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 5-1, Iowa. For the game, he was 1-4. He drove in 2 runs.
