Storm Prevail, 3-2, Over Atlantic City
|
The West Island Storm beat the Atlantic City Aces, 3-2, at Hot Box. The win was due in part to designated hitter Ken Wells, who was 2 for 2 with 2 home runs and a walk. The win elevated the Storm to 55-44.
The game was at a stalemate until right fielder P.J. Allen came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Atlantic City pitcher Kinji Kanda, he hit a 2-1 cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting West Island on top, 3-2.
"I like what I saw today," said West Island manager Jeremy Mills, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
