Amarillo right fielder Wilford Simons helped his team beat the Orlando Rum Runners, 5-2. Simons went 4 for 4 for the Chicken Haulers. The victory gives the Chicken Haulers a record of 53-49.

Rubén Rincón threw 5.0 innings allowing 2 runs for Amarillo. The 34-year old right-handed pitcher had a key at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring walk off Manny Flores. It was his 23rd walk of the season.

"We take it day by day here," said Rincón, "and today was a good one for us."
