Alfaro Lifts Storm to 7-4 Win
|
The 7-4 West Island win over Atlantic City was due largely to Jesús Alfaro. The Storm left fielder went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Cliff Brown picked up the win with 6 innings of work. He allowed 4 runs on 10 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 2-3. Alfredo Careno notched his 2nd save in 8 chances.
With West Island leading 3-2 in the bottom of the second, Alfaro hit a 2-run single off Atlantic City hurler Andrew Fitzgerald. It was the 33rd hit of the season for Alfaro and put his team ahead, 5-2.
"We've got to kick it in gear soon," said Atlantic City manager .
Atlantic City, at 43-57, has lost 8 straight.
