The Orlando Rum Runners beat the Honolulu High Tide, 2-1. Orlando pitcher and Manhattan, New York, native Ted Stevens led the way. Brent Pugh finished the game for Orlando and earned his 26th save. The Rum Runners raised their record to 49-52.

The Rum Runners got a big at-bat from designated hitter Mike Allen. For the game, Allen went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 17th home run of the season gave Orlando a 2-0 lead.

Afterward, Rum Runners manager was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
