Railbirds Suffer One-Run Loss at Minneapolis
Minneapolis parlayed a decent outing from starter Mike Kern into a solid win over the Reading Railbirds. The final score was 6-5. Kern picked up the win for Minneapolis, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 8 hits. He now sports a record of 8-8. Greg Douglas collected his 23rd save.

The Maulers got a gift in the bottom of the eighth inning, when they were leading 5-3. With two out and a runner on 2nd, José Silva reached on an error by the left fielder, driving in 1 run. It made the score 6-3, Minneapolis.

"Mike is good at sticking to his strengths," said Minneapolis manager Spoof Smith.
